Structural Project Manager

We are currently seeking a Structural Project Manager to join our structural design team. The ideal candidate possesses strong design abilities and embraces creative, outside of the box thinking, ready to tackle unique design challenges. This individual will be responsible for designing and managing structural engineering projects, overseeing the work of entry level engineers, and working collaboratively with other Finch & Associates team members.  This position has high growth potential with the opportunity to gain additional responsibilities within a growing firm.

Functions and responsibilities of this position include:

  • Execution and/or oversight of all project design tasks for structural projects ranging from new construction and adaptive reuse building projects to specialized infrastructure projects.
  • Execution and/or oversight of project construction documents including construction drawings, specifications, and submittals.
  • Management of project deadlines.
  • Communicate and coordinate with other project disciplines such as Architects, Civil Engineers, MEP Engineers, Contractors, and Owners, as well as other Finch & Associates team members.
  • Manage project shop drawing review and responses to contractor RFIs and questions during project construction.
  • Complete site visits to gather field information if required to complete project design and to periodically observe construction to ensure the project is executed in accordance with the design intent.
  • Engage with clients to maintain open lines of communication, build upon relationships, and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Lead and mentor less experienced staff.

Qualifications for this position are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural focus is required.
  • PE certification is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Structural Engineering design experience is required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office; structural analysis software such as RAM Structural Systems, IES Software, RISA or similar; and AutoCAD is required. Revit experience is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with a willingness to collaborate and interact with team members and clients is critical.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks at once.
